Lead
AircraftPost figures carried in the 12 October NBAA daily show the pre-owned business-jet market still tightening: transactions fell 2.5% year over year across the first three quarters of 2026, and the number of aircraft entering the market dropped 7%. That is a sales-and-inventory signal for owners, brokers, and management companies — separate from the same week’s flight-activity print, which still rose week over week.
Pre-owned: fewer deals and fewer new listings
AIN’s AircraftPost summary, via NBAA, framed the first three quarters of 2026 as a tighter resale tape: deal volume down 2.5% versus the same stretch a year earlier, and aircraft coming onto the market down 7%. For charter desks the practical read is not a wholesale grounding of lift; it is that owners who might have sold or replaced may stay in the fleet longer, and that acquisition timelines for clients hunting a specific used type can stretch when fresh inventory is thinner.
Treat the AircraftPost print as a resale-market check, not as a same-week charter-rate forecast. On-demand pricing still turns on availability, positioning, and crew — not on how many used jets changed hands last quarter.
Flight activity: 74,683 movements in the week of 5–11 October
Avi-Go’s weekly bulletin for 5–11 October 2026 recorded 74,683 business-aviation flights, up 2.44% week over week, with mixed regional hubs underneath that headline.
In the Americas, New York Teterboro (KTEB) led with 3,579 movements, up 27.14% year over year and 1.68% week over week. Denver rose 19.86% week over week, while Washington fell 11.82% week over week. The busiest Americas city pair in the bulletin was Dallas–Houston (220 flights). NetJets Aviation led Americas operator volume at 9,409 flights (+1.31% WoW), and Challenger 300-series types led Americas flight hours.
In EMEA, Paris Le Bourget (LFPB) topped the region with 1,312 movements (+7.72% YoY, +1.47% WoW). Milan was up 22.01% year over year; Nice fell 14.36% week over week. London–Paris was the busiest EMEA pair (156 flights, +25.81% WoW). NetJets Europe led EMEA operator volume at 1,455 flights (−9.74% WoW), with Citation Excel/XLS/XLS+ leading EMEA flight hours.
In APAC, Singapore Seletar (WSSL) led with 274 movements (+31.73% WoW, −6.16% YoY). Pune and Seoul each posted about 80.56% week-over-week gains in the bulletin’s growth callouts. Jakarta–Singapore was the busiest APAC pair (39 flights). VistaJet led APAC operator volume at 128 flights (+29.29% WoW), with Global 6000 leading APAC flight hours.
Ops and policy notes from the same NBAA daily
AVweb reported that the FAA has banned touch-and-goes at Centennial Airport (APA) near Denver and limited parallel departures and other pattern work. Desks routing training or positioning through APA should confirm current pattern restrictions with the operator and FBO.
Local coverage carried by NBAA said the FAA rescinded a November 2024 notice that would have allowed the Indianapolis airport authority to sell the downtown heliport (8A4) to the city — keeping that downtown heliport option on the board for now.
NBAA said it supports an FAA plan updating medical certification for applicants with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, and separately welcomed House legislation from Rep. Tracey Mann (R-KS) calling for an additional $30 billion to continue ATC modernization work begun last year.
Private Jet Card Comparisons noted that Ocean Aviation broke ground on a new FBO at Miami Executive (TMB), with officials citing about 2,900 construction jobs and 250 permanent positions. At NBAA-BACE, NBAA also flagged roughly two dozen maintenance-focused sessions with FAA inspection-authorization renewal approval.
What Jet Intelligence readers should take away
Hold two separate pictures: AircraftPost says pre-owned deal flow and new listings are softer through Q3, while Avi-Go says last week’s flown activity still rose. Quote trips from current availability, not from the resale tape. Flag APA pattern limits for Denver-area training or positioning, and note TMB’s new Ocean Aviation FBO as a South Florida ground option as it builds out. ATC-funding and diabetes-medical updates matter for longer-horizon ops planning, not same-day RFQs.
