Two commercial facts led the useful part of the 2 October NBAA daily. Embraer delivered 66 aircraft in the third quarter, up 6% year over year, in what the digest calls a record third quarter, including 41 business jets described as the company’s best third-quarter deliveries. Solairus closed its acquisition of Clay Lacy’s charter and management business, and Clay Lacy-managed aircraft are to move to Solairus through November.
How to read the delivery print
Sixty-six aircraft, and 41 business jets inside that total, is a factory pace. The digest calls the quarter a record for Embraer and the business-jet slice the best third-quarter deliveries in the company’s history. The figure does not assign a tail to a week, a region, or a broker’s open trip.
Use the print when a client asks whether new Embraer metal is still leaving the factory. Source the trip from the operator who can actually confirm the aircraft. A delivery record and a Thursday departure are different ledgers.
Clay Lacy aircraft are moving to Solairus
Solairus has closed the acquisition of Clay Lacy’s charter and management business. Aircraft managed by Clay Lacy are to move onto Solairus through November. Dan Drohan, the chief executive, said there is still much work to do.
Desks that quote Clay Lacy-managed aircraft should confirm which certificate and which brand will answer the next RFQ, and should update the supplier record so a November trip is not sent down a contact path that is being retired. A closed acquisition still leaves a transition. Drohan’s comment is the operator-side version of that point.
Regulatory and airport items in the same daily
NBAA’s News Hour webinar examined FAA actions on single-pilot operations, medical certification, and supplemental oxygen rules, and the association’s advocacy around the operational effect of those actions. The FAA is also seeking industry input on technology that can detect and locate radio-frequency interference across the National Airspace System.
Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), Phoenix Goodyear (GYR), and Phoenix Deer Valley (DVT) are set to study Honeywell’s SURF-A Surface Alert system on ground vehicles. That is a study at three named airports, not a statement that the system is already in daily use on every vehicle.
What Jet Intelligence readers should take away
Update Clay Lacy supplier records before the November transition window, and ask which entity is confirming the aircraft. Read Embraer’s 66 deliveries, the 6% year-over-year rise, and the 41 business jets as production pace. The single-pilot, medical, and oxygen topics from News Hour are a regulatory watchlist, and they are a different story from the Solairus close.
